Travel (Outside of Canada)

Train passing narrow road in old town in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The best holiday was my family’s travel to Hanoi capital in Vietnam. We stayed at a hotel near Hanoi Old Quarter for the convenience of eating, travelling and visiting the old town and Hoan Kiem lake. We visited the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long that is a world cultural heritage associated with the history of Hanoi under the different dynasties in Vietnam. My family also went to Tam Coc cave in Ninh Binh province near Hanoi. It is recognized as part of UNESCO World Heritage. In a small boat, my family was taken along the river from the village of Ván Lam, through rice fields and limestone karsts, through the caves, and back. We enjoyed fresh air, cool water, and the amazing scenery on both sides of the river, as well as the beautiful views under the water. It was a wonderful feeling. Last day, we visited Vinh Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province. It is also UNESCO World Heritage site with many islands and big caves famous all around the world. Although our trip was expensive, my family had a wonderful time spending time together and learning more about our country.
