I want to share an incident of a scam that happened to me. One day in December 2019, at around 11 am, I received a call from a number that I had saved under my husband's name. The person on the call started by mentioning my husband's full name and then stated my name. When I asked who was speaking, they claimed to be from the Canadian Police and informed me that they had arrested my husband. They demanded a cash payment of $1,00,000 for his release and gave me one hour to decide.

I immediately called my husband and informed him about the call. He confirmed that his friend had not made any such call to me. So, I sent him the recording of the call, and after listening to it, he confirmed that it was a scam call. He told me that he was pleased with my decision not to respond. He believed it was the right choice.

If you ever receive such a call, don't panic. Instead, try to verify the information with a family member or friend before taking any action. Stay alert and be safe from such fraud activities.
