Parenthood

Father and children playing in the park at the sunset time

Life before and after having children brings many changes. Before parenting, all of your responsibility focuses were on personal needs and goals, which gave you freedom to pursue hobbies and other activities. After becoming a parent, responsibilities increase to cover the child's well-being, education, and emotional care. The daily routine changes around feeding, clothing, education, and emotional support.

Previously, I had freedom and flexibility and enjoyed carefree travel and socialization. Parenting requires careful planning, and coordinating activities with children's schedules. Sleep patterns have been disrupted by the child's unpredictable sleep cycles, leading to late-night sleep and sometimes sleep deprivation. Personal time, which used to be sufficient for self-care and hobbies, shrinks when childcare becomes a priority. Social life changes when the priorities of families are more important, which requires coordination of social activities and often of children as well. Expenses have increased by childcare-related spending such as education, health, and childcare, which requires strategic budgeting. Career dynamics are changing, and the balance between desires and parental responsibilities requires delicate efforts. Emotional fulfillment turns from personal accomplishments to the deep joys and challenges of parenting. Time management becomes difficult as children, work, and personal needs require careful attention. Both stages offer different joys, challenges and opportunities for personal growth. A change in parenting reshapes priorities, routines and perspectives and makes a profound, life-changing journey.
