Travel (Outside of Canada)

Cefalu, medieval village of Sicily island, Italy

Summer of 2018. After a hard year at the university for me and a difficult working year for my sister and mother, we decided to get out of the routine and go on a trip. We did not choose the country for long, as Italy interested all of us and we began to prepare for the trip without unnecessary disputes. We bought a bus tour of Italian cities to cover as much Italian culture as possible.

Our journey began with the capital of Italy – Rome, where we spent an incredible three days. Since our interests are different from our mother, we decided to split up. Mom visited all possible excursions to the temples. My sister and I got acquainted with the sights that interested us. We visited the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and just walked along the Italian streets.

After Rome, we went to Florence. We got acquainted with the art of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and many other outstanding artists. Then we moved to Pisa, where we took a huge number of photos with the Leaning Tower of Pisa and got acquainted with its history.

We completed our journey in Venice. Incredibly beautiful city built on the sea. Walking along the narrow streets along the numerous canals is a pleasure. We took a ride along the canal, visited St. Mark's Square, saw St. Mark's Cathedral and much more.

When we arrived home, we were inspired by Italian culture, history and food. Of course, it is not possible to cover everything in one week, so we hope to return to Italy again.
