Happy young man holding lottery tickets and money

What would you do if you won a million dollars?! This is my favourite question to answer. Even thinking about getting a big surprize like this makes my day.

While the wise strategy would be to invest all the money in a lucrative business and only spend from the profit, I am not sure I could resist not buying a luxury car or not going on trip to Europe at the first place of getting the money. In order to satisfy my long-term and present desires, I would be trying to budget the fund. I would dedicate 70 percent of the cash on investing which is the most challenging part as a sound investing is not an easy task. I need to be patient and search through different fields and consult with experts. And then I would spend 20 percent on the down payment of a decent house to get rid of the rent every month. The last but not the least portion would go to spending the money on whim. I try to do what ever I want at the moment with the remaining 10 percent like contributing to people I love or helping a charity or maybe buying a yacht.

The other day, I came across a controversial post on social media saying that more than half of the people who have won lottery have ended up being homeless. Although I have no idea about the legitimacy of the post, it was thought provoking to me. I believe there are some hidden rules in the world that make it more complicated than it seems to be. Maybe a good degree of competency and toughness is required to survive in the business world in a way that keeping the wealth is even as challenging as earning it. And if someone does not deserve the power that comes along with wealth, they would contribute to destroying themselves with that power.

To conclude, if I won a million dollars I would budget different divisions to meet my short and long term goals. However I hope I deserve that as, in the real world, it appears not to be as smooth as it seems and I need to be strong and thoughtful to maintain the wealth.
