Friends

Friends in a natural lake in the forest

Friendship is something particularly important for well-being. Also, we must build strong friendships throughout our lives.

Last year, when I arrived in Canada, everything was new to me. Certainly my wife already had friends who had lived here for many years, but personally I didn't have any.

I quickly found work and my first real interactions with those who would become friends took place there. On my first day at work, I sat at the same table as a colleague and we didn't really talk together. A few minutes later, when we started talking, she told me that she thought I was someone who was too reserved, who didn't want to talk with others, but afterward she understood that I didn't have a perfect command of English and that's what was blocking me.

After a while, I started talking to everyone, despite my broken English, and today I manage to make myself understood. I manage to understand others and we often have good times laughing together during breaks.

Having friends allows you to open up and have moments of sharing. And, especially in the case of Canada, with its diverse population, it allows you to discover the whole world while being in the same place. In the same day you can learn things about Canada, the American continent, the African continent, the Asian continent, etc., because you can easily exchange with people from all walks of life.

During the winter, it's more difficult because everyone wants to quickly go home and warm up, but as soon as the weather permits, friendships blossom and they are very beautiful.
