Bread background. Various kinds of bread with sesame seeds.

My mother used to make this bread when I was a child and the entire family enjoyed it for lunch time on Saturdays. I know that my mom learned this recipe from her mother and it came from Romania.

Ingredients:

  • 500g flour
  • 320ml warm water
  • 10g dry yeast
  • 5g salt
  • 20ml oil
  • 10g sugar
  • 50g raw sunflower seeds
  • 50g raw pumpkin seeds
  • 50g ground flaxseeds

Directions:

  • Mix 100 g of warm water with yeast until the yeast is dissolved, then add the sugar and two spoons of flour, and leave them to rest and grow for 15 minutes (leaven).
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients with the leaven and leave it in a bowl to rest and grow for one hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 356 F.
  • Grease a 10 x 25 pan.
  • With a small quantity of oil put the dough in the pan and leave it to grow for another 30 minutes.
  • Before putting it in the oven, make 3 or 4 notches on the top of the dough and grease it with some oil.
  • Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes.
  • Let it cool down and serve with butter or cream cheese. It’s delicious!

I hope you will enjoy this bread full of seeds; however, be careful, it has a lot of calories!
