Celebration

A few days ago was my birthday, a very special day for me and I love celebrating important days. That day my husband invited me to eat breakfast in a restaurant, and walk on the beach. He took beautiful pictures of me. The weather was lovely. He brought a new outfit for me and I put it on the same day. I felt amazing!

When it was time to go home, on the way he bought colourful flowers for me. He knows that I like to decorate my balcony with plants. Then we arrived at our house and I opened the door and all my friends were there and yelled in chorus "Surprise!". I was in shock: the living room was decorated with a lot of balloons and a big happy birthday banner, and they put on my a sash with lights that said: "It's my Birthday". They all cooked my favourite dishes; also, they brought a cake and wine. Besides, they gave me presents. I was so excited!

What surprised me the most is that my husband was the one who planned the whole surprise party. Normally my husband did not celebrate special dates because he grew up in a community which does not celebrate birthdays or Christmas, etc. He does not currently belong to that community and is learning these customs that are important to me. He also enjoyed the party a lot and everything was perfect. That was my best gift. We all had a great and happy time. That has been the best birthday of my life.
