Marathon running race, people feet on city road in wet rain

My whole life I thought that running was not my passion because I struggled with breathing while running. I was also around 5 kilograms overweight, and this is the second reason. But I always wanted to challenge myself. I started with running apps and did their plans. I increased the distance and pace, and such results made me happy. Then, I registered for my first 5K race and it gave me more motivation and a deadline. After the first race, I realized that I had potential and decided to join the running club. It's much more fun to do exercises and run with a bunch of involved people. In addition, our coaches were quite experienced and helped us to overcome difficulties. Then, we planned more races and practiced for a specific result. My improvement really motivated me; therefore, I gave a great performance. I still had problems with breathing, but the coaches gave me some advice that made it easier.

I finished my first half marathon, and I was satisfied with the time. But on the other hand, I decided that I prefer shorter distances and focused on 5K. Nowadays, I run by myself using a specific program, which is prepared for a particular result. In my last race, I was third between males and first by my age group.

Running is a sport for all ages. The strictest rule is to be consistent. Try to run at least every other day. You should improve every time, just run longer or faster the same distance. Find a partner, register for a race, join a running club and enjoy this freedom. You will see how you will be better and feel healthier.
