These days, everyone has a camera on their phone. Smartphone cameras may not be up there with DSLRs when it comes to quality photography, but they are getting better and have good features. However, some people don’t know how to use them. Learn what your camera can do. A great photo takes a lot of time with practice and patience. Start by taking some time to find out exactly what your phone’s camera is capable of. Here are some important tips to help you:

1. Clean the lenses for crystal clear photos

Your phone is always in your hand or in your pocket, so your phone lens picks up dirt every day. Clean lenses help produce sharp photos.

2. Use natural light where possible

It’s best to take photos outdoors in proper lighting conditions to get better results. Lighting determines not only brightness and darkness, but also and the atmosphere of the photo. Therefore, try and use natural light when taking photos on a smartphone.

3. Capture multiple shots

One of the best things about smartphone photography is that you can take as many photos as you want and see the results. This makes it much easier to learn and improve from your results. Burst photos are good to use when you take a photo of kids, or any subject that moves.

4. Don’t use digital zoom and simply move closer

Digital zoom almost always produces poor results because it reduces image resolution. One of the fundamental guidelines for taking better photos is to avoid it. On smartphones, optical zooms, which are becoming more common, are acceptable because they have no impact on the image quality. If you only have a digital zoom then instead of using it, simply move closer to maintain the image quality.

5. The rule of thirds

It is the simplest rule in photography. Picture a division of your frame into three horizontal and three vertical sections by two horizontal and two vertical lines. Any eye-catching aspect of a scene should be positioned along one of these lines or at one of their intersections for photos with more dynamic composition. The best way to use it is to turn on your grid option on your cellphone.

Close up photography is the best option to show more details. You can increase the size of the subject and create a strong frame. So don't worry about getting close to your subject.

7. Use Leading Lines to Create

In a picture, a leading line is a line that directs your attention from one area of the scene to another. The best compositions typically have lines that draw your attention to the scene's main subject or focal point. Because lines naturally catch our attention, even the most uninterested viewer can be drawn to a well-executed shot with a strong leading line. Leading lines can frequently produce a very strong and distinctive visual experience that immediately grabs the viewer's attention.

Bonus tip - Practice!

Last but not least, practice is the best advice if you want to learn how to take a professional photo with your phone. You don't need to worry about the outcome right away, so shoot as many images as you like, evaluate them, and learn more about photography to see how they might be improved.
