HARBIN, CHINA - JAN 2, 2019: Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is an annual winte

My hometown, Harbin is a city in northeastern China that is known for its unique culture, scenery and cuisine. It’s called the “Eastern Paris” and “Eastern Moscow” due to its well-known European-style architecture and an influx of diverse immigrants from Russia, Poland, Germany, France and other neighbouring countries in history.

If you visit Harbin, you must go to Zhongyang Pedestrian Street, which is the largest and longest pedestrian street in Asia. It has many shops, cafes, restaurants and monuments that show Harbin’s beauty and charm. Be sure to try the modern ice cream on Zhongyang Street in winter, as it is a unique experience to enjoy ice cream on the street of Harbin during the winter season.

Harbin is also called the “Ice City” because of its famous Ice and Snow Festival that takes place annually. The Harbin Ice and Snow World is a must-see attraction, with its magnificent ice sculptures and snow carvings. The Sun Island Snow Sculpture Art Expo is another winter wonderland that you cannot miss if you travel to Harbin.

Harbin's cuisine is famous for its hearty and delicious dishes. Guo Bao Rou (Fried Pork with Sweet & Sour Sauce) is a must-try dish that is crispy, sweet, sour, and savory all at once. Other local specialties include stews, dumplings and Harbin-style barbecue, which are perfect for travelers to experiment.

I warmly welcome you to visit my hometown of Harbin and experience all that it has to offer for tourism.
