I am not sure that learning a second language is easy for anybody. One of the important ways to learn a new language is as follows: the more you are exposed to the language the faster you will learn. Which means that you should be around the new language anytime: the phone, computer, TV, movies, games, radio, news, and even people around you, if possible, should speak the new language, so that you can integrate it in all aspects of your life.

Why is it easier for children to learn a second language?

First of all, children don't feel ashamed when making mistakes like adults. They just speak making associations between expressions and words in their minds. Children's brains absorb new information easier than adults' brains do.

On the other hand, adults try to learn with some grammar rules and they don't want to speak with people, because they are afraid of sounding imperfect and making people laugh. Adults know many more words in their mother tongue than children and they want to have the same vocabulary in the new language as well. Adults want to learn the language with many nice expressions and words and they have to make many more connections in their brains to understand and to remember them.

To sum it up, learning a second language depends on the motivation that people have in their minds. The stronger the motivation, the faster, easier and more fun will be the way that you will achieve your goal.
