Settlement

I came to Canada six years ago. I’m from Jordan. I came to Canada with my husband and children to fulfill our dream and continue to study for a master's degree and work like everyone else.

We lived in three different regions in Canada, the first was Montreal, we studied English at school and at then a year later we moved to London and now we live in Milton.

I was afraid to come because of a different culture than ours, then what if I can’t adapt to it and miss my family. I was still thinking how I can't see them for so long and, but then I said to myself, “we've came to Canada because it's a country where dreams will come true.”

I started studying all four skills with LINC Home Study. I learned English and my teacher was cooperating with me. Thank God I was able to understand and speak English. I took the citizenship test and succeeded, and now I am still completing my studies until I master the language completely. I appreciate the efforts of my teacher who is helping me now to reach my goal. My husband also completed his master’s degree and is now studying for a doctorate.

Although we faced many difficulties, but thank God our dreams came true and I adapted to living in Canada.

So don't give up no matter what difficulties you face.
