I am a Telecommunications Technician. In my home country I worked collaboratively in the deployment of fiber optic networks to support home and corporate services, phones, and data.

Restarting a career in Canada is challenging because it requires sufficient English fluency and Canadian job experience. This is like starting your career again. Through the time I have learned about resume and cover letter formats. I have attended several interviews in person and online.

My first job was as an assembler in a manufacturing company making fiber optic harnesses for telecom applications. In summary, the job consists of stripping the cables to expose the fiber filaments and installing a connector to each of them. I had an excellent work environment with friendly coworkers and supervisors. After two years in this factory, I decided to switch to another role. I got a job in another company. Since then, I have been working as a field technician installing and repairing residential Internet, TV, and phone services. In this job, My English skills have been improved because I interact much more with customers.

Working in the telecommunications field is rewarding because you constantly learn while the technology grows. I expect to get advanced job opportunities while I enhance my English skills to express complex ideas fluently.
