Are you aware of how important physical activity is? It doesn’t matter what activity you choose, just make sure it’s one that you really enjoy and keeps you motivated. The activities that have inspired me since I was a child are volleyball, badminton, table tennis and football, known as soccer in North America. However, football is ultimately my favourite game to play for a variety of reasons. Playing football has provided me with lots of happy memories. For example, I can remember when our middle school team won its first match. When I scored the winning goal all of my teammates ran toward me cheering. I felt so ecstatic and proud at the same time. Besides experiencing those joyful moments, playing football kept me super fit. It is an incredibly demanding sport. Players usually run non-stop for 90 minutes with a 15 break in between. This requires a lot of stamina. I had to train daily, which helped to burn a lot of calories, improve my cardio and strengthen my muscles. Moreover, playing on a football team helped me develop valuable skills. For example, how to work cooperatively on a team, how to anticipate problems and opportunities and how to communicate effectively. Finally, playing on a football team was a great way for me to make new friends and expand my social circle, as I learned to trust others on and off the football pitch. In conclusion, there are countless benefits to playing on a football team or any sports team, so why don’t you get out there and join one? Your life will never be the same.
