My name is Shmitt and I would like to share with you my experience learning English.

I started to learn English in high school. I remember that English was the most difficult course I had, so I didn’t like English at first. When I found my first job, I realized the importance of English, so then I began again to learn English with more effort.

When I arrived in Canada, I couldn’t understand people. It was so weird to have people speaking around you and you don’t catch anything. When my phone would ring, I didn’t answer because I knew that I wouldn’t understand. To resolve this problem, my wife signed me up for the LINC Home Study program. Since September 2018, I have participated in the course to improve my English. I realized that this program isn't just here to give us the rules about English language but is more than that; I mean this program prepares us to be a good citizen.

I am happy to be in this program, but I need to work harder because my level does not match with my ambition. That's why I decided to go to the next step: to be able to speak and understand English properly. Also, I would like to let you know that being bilingual is a superpower, so keep working hard in order to gain your superpower.
