Raising a child can take a lot of energy and responsibility. To help him or her acquire social skills to be able to live in society, it's very important to put in place some appropriate measures. However, whether at school or at home, some children can ignore the rules put in place by showing inappropriate behavior. So, to help an unruly child to behave appropriately, it is vital to use techniques and strategies that meet his or her needs.

First, establishing rules with your child is essential. All good behaviors that he or she must respect and follow should be written down. For any disrespect on the part of the child, allow him/her to think about the natural consequences and link them to the rules. In the process that you will put in place, remember to involve the child. The rules and the consequences put in place must be encouraged by the parents and children should be allowed to make suggestions.

Second, for positive behaviors he or she shows, keep the good habit to congratulate him or her. In children's mind, it is a technique that strengthens self-esteem. You can set up a motivation board with a reward system to encourage the child. Following rules should be encouraged, and to do so, you have to choose two or three goals to achieve during a specific period, for example, one week, two weeks or a month.

Finally, get into the habit of giving the child small responsibilities that can make him or her feel responsible. Also, give him or her the opportunity to make suggestions on small decisions to make him or her feel accepted. For instance, allow the child to choose his/her own clothes, where to go for leisure activities during vacation, and so on.

In conclusion, when considering children's behavior, it is important to know that parents and teachers have an important part to play. Because we are children’s role models, they tend to copy our actions. Finally, parents should remember that apologizing should apply to both children and parents alike.
