On the 8th of May, 1945, Nazi German surrendered but in Mongolia, Soviet Union and some other countries May 9th was started as a holiday to celebrate the victory.

This day was celebrated as our victory over Germany. In Mongolia, we have parades for the veterans and also a big march in celebration with other fellow country’s soldiers.

It's not a statutory holiday in Mongolia, but, some other countries take it as their official statutory holiday.
